About the venue

A country house all to yourselves

Down Stocks Lane in Over Peover, a short drive from Knutsford, Colshaw Hall is a Grade II listed manor house on a 300-acre estate, booked for one wedding at a time so the whole place is yours for the day.

Ceremonies take place in the stables ceremony room, with oak beams and limestone floors. Afterwards, drinks move out to the walled gardens and the pavilion bar, which is perfect on a summer afternoon.

The Peel Suite hosts both the wedding breakfast and the evening party, so once the tables are cleared the band is ready to go in the same room. There’s also The Den for the groom’s party to get ready in.

The estate sleeps up to 44 guests, with rooms in the hall itself plus courtyard cottages, eco lodges, Hunter’s Lodge and Irlam Lodge, so your closest friends and family can stay over and nobody has to leave the dancefloor early.

Vows in the stables, dinner by the walled garden, then the horns take over.

Why a live band

Built for a big finish

Exclusive use, a separate ceremony room and guests staying over. Colshaw Hall sets up a long night of live music.

Dinner, then dancing

The Peel Suite turns from wedding breakfast to dancefloor, so a 9-piece band and horn section can take over the room you’ve just eaten in.

Two spaces, one day

With the ceremony in the stables, our acoustic singer and guitarist can play your vows while the Peel Suite is set for dinner.

Nobody rushing home

With guests staying on the estate, the dancefloor stays full right up to the last song.

Garden drinks with horns

On a summer afternoon our roaming brass band can follow your guests around the gardens while the photos are taken.

Questions

Colshaw Hall wedding band FAQs

Can Brass Monkees play at Colshaw Hall?

Yes. Over Peover is just outside Knutsford, one of the areas we cover most (see our Knutsford wedding band page). We’ll speak to the venue team before the day about where the band sets up and when.

Can you play our ceremony in the stables?

Yes. Our acoustic singer and guitarist can play your entrance, the signing and your exit, then move to the drinks reception if you’d like music there too.

Where does the band set up?

In the Peel Suite, once dinner is cleared. Colshaw’s team turns the room round for the evening, and we slot in at whichever end leaves the biggest dancefloor for your numbers.

Is volume a problem in an old listed house?

No. A Grade II listed building means the venue looks after its rooms carefully, and we’re used to that. We balance the horns and vocals for the Peel Suite rather than blasting it, and if a limiter is in place we stay under it. More in our guide to sound limiters at Cheshire wedding venues.

Is everything technical covered?

Yes. Speakers, mixing desk and stage lights all come in the van with us, at no extra cost. Our public liability insurance and PAT certificates are ready if Colshaw’s team asks for them.

What will a band for Colshaw Hall cost?

Our prices start from around £2,000, and the final figure depends on the date, how long you’d like us to play and which extras you add. There’s no agency taking a cut. Tell us your date and we’ll send a full quote.

When should we get in touch?

Exclusive-use venues only host one wedding a day, so the best summer dates go early, and the band’s calendar fills up in the same way. Once Colshaw Hall has your date, drop us a line.
