01Live Brass Section
Trumpet, trombone and sax play every song live, alongside two singers, drums, bass, guitar and keys. It’s the horns that make a first dance or a Motown classic sound like the record.

Two hours of live music each wedding, split into two 60-minute sets or three of 45 minutes, so the band fits around your cake cutting, evening buffet and first dance.

A BRASS WEDDING BAND
Plenty of wedding bands are four or five musicians. We’re nine, and three of us play brass.
That horn section is what people remember: the trumpet, trombone and sax lines on a Motown classic, a funk groove or a modern pop hit, played live and loud enough to fill the room. Our set list covers Soul, Funk, R&B, Motown and Pop, and we play weddings in Cheshire, Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, the North West, North Wales, Shropshire and Staffordshire, and further afield too.

From your first message to the last song, you deal with the band, not an agency. Book an acoustic singer and guitarist for the ceremony, the roaming brass band for your drinks reception, or our DJ booth for the end of the night through our wedding packages.
Fully Insured
Most wedding venues ask for paperwork before a band can load in. We hold public liability insurance and our equipment is PAT tested, and we’ll send both certificates to your venue coordinator before the day.

Typical UK prices for a live wedding band are roughly:
A band with a live horn section needs more musicians, so it sits at the top of that range. Brass Monkees start from £2,000 plus travel, and because there’s no agency, there’s no 20% commission on top.
The final price depends on your date, where you’re getting married and how long you want us to play.

Send your date and venue through our enquiry form and we’ll come back with availability and a quote.
To confirm, sign the booking form online and pay a 15% deposit. Your date is then reserved, and the deposit invoice is emailed to you.
We email the final invoice about two weeks before the wedding, with any extras added and your deposit taken off. It needs paying at least 7 days before.

Our set is Soul, Funk, R&B, Motown and Pop, from the 1950s to now, arranged so the horns play the big lines you know from the records. We change the set through the night to suit the dancefloor.

Nine musicians: two lead singers, drums, bass, guitar and keys, plus a three-piece horn section of trumpet, trombone and saxophone.
A flat, covered area of about 6m × 3m and two 13 amp sockets on separate circuits. We’ve fitted nine of us into smaller spaces, so if your venue is tight, just ask.
We bring a 3kW PA as standard, or a 5kW PA for large rooms and marquees at an extra cost.
Most of our weddings are in Cheshire, Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and the rest of the North West, plus North Wales, Shropshire and Staffordshire.
We travel further for the right wedding. Travel is included in your quote, so send us the venue and we’ll price it.
Yes. If it’s a song we’d like in our set, we’ll learn it at no charge. Otherwise there’s a fee to arrange the parts for the band, horns included, and rehearse it.
If you’d prefer the original recording, we’ll play it through our PA.
Usually around 6pm. In a separate room from your meal, we set up straight away; in the same room, we wait until the speeches are over.
We work to your plans, but 8:30–9pm is the earliest we’d recommend. It gives the evening guests time to arrive and the party time to build.
A minimum of 60 minutes to set up and soundcheck, then a little time to change.
Usually, yes. Horns are loud, but at around 100 decibels, with the limiter at least 7 metres from the stage, the full band plays without trouble. For lower limits, in-ear monitors and an electronic drum kit help bring the volume down.

The Brass Monkees are one of the best bands, you will not regret booking them for any event. We recently booked them for our wedding in North Wales, and they were absolutely amazing. We let the band use their expertise to judge what to play during the evening, and they nailed it!
We also booked Lauren and Ben (Singer and Guitarist) for live music to be played pre and after ceremony, again absolutely perfect. Again we left it to their expertise to know what to play and they set the tone perfectly.

Hands down the best wedding band we've ever seen/heard. They put their heart and soil into 2 hours of non stop classics. What horns add to a wedding
Think of the songs that fill a wedding dancefloor: Motown, soul and funk classics, and plenty of modern pop. A lot of them were recorded with horns. When a band plays them without brass, something’s missing. With a live trumpet, trombone and sax, they sound the way your guests remember them.
Brass also gives the band presence in a big room. In a ballroom, barn or marquee, three horns at the front cut through the noise of a full dancefloor in a way keyboards alone can’t.

BOOKING A WEDDING BAND: HOW IT WORKS
Enquiry, deposit, the big day
Send your date and venue and we’ll confirm whether we’re free, with a quote that includes travel. Sign the booking form online and pay a 15% deposit to secure the date. The final invoice comes about two weeks before the wedding and is due a week before.
In the run-up, we’ll agree timings with you and your venue, talk through your first dance and must-play songs, and check things like power, space and any sound limiter. Our sound limiter guide explains what to ask your venue.

One booking for the whole day
The 9-piece band is two lead singers, drums, bass, guitar, keys, trumpet, trombone and sax. For the rest of the day, add an acoustic singer and guitarist for the ceremony and our roaming brass band for the drinks reception.
