SHROPSHIRE WEDDING BAND
Two lead singers, a horn section of trumpet, trombone and sax, and drums, bass, guitar and keys behind them. Nine musicians who know how to take a room from coffee and cake to a full dancefloor, and keep it there all night.
We play soul, funk, R&B, Motown and pop at weddings all over the county: black-and-white timber-framed manor houses and country estates around Shrewsbury and Ludlow, barns and farm venues in the Shropshire Hills, historic halls near Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock, and hotels around Telford and Ironbridge. We adapt our set-up to the room, whatever its size or shape.
From Oswestry and Whitchurch in the north to Church Stretton and Craven Arms in the south, you get the full show: our own PA and lighting, a playlist between sets, and a set we change as the night goes on. Plenty of the county's listed buildings have sound limiters, and we're used to working with them. Getting married nearby? We play Cheshire, Staffordshire and North Wales weddings all year round.
You book us direct, with no agency involved, and you'll speak to the band at every stage. Want music earlier in the day too? Add an acoustic singer and guitarist for the ceremony, roaming brass for the drinks reception, or our DJ for the end of the night, all in one of our wedding packages.

Public liability insurance and PAT-tested equipment come as standard. Shropshire's estates and listed manor houses almost always want to see both, and we'll send the paperwork straight to your venue.

Here's roughly what you can expect to pay for a live wedding band in Shropshire:
Our full 9-piece starts from £2,000 plus travel. There's no agency, so no 20% added on top, which means you get nine musicians and live horns for what some agencies charge for a smaller band.
Your quote depends on the line-up, travel to your venue, the date and how long you need us.

To book, sign our online booking form (we'll send you the link) and pay a 15% deposit. That secures your date, and your deposit invoice arrives by email straight away.
Your final invoice is emailed about two weeks before your wedding, including any extras you've added and taking off anything already paid.

No. We bring everything with us and just need a flat, covered area of around 6m × 3m and two separate 13 amp sockets on individual spurs. Lots of Shropshire barns and manor houses are tighter than that, and we've played in much smaller spaces, so let us know what your venue has.
Our 3kW PA is standard, and we can bring a larger 5kW PA for big rooms at an extra cost.
All of it. We play weddings in Shrewsbury and Telford, up to Oswestry, Whitchurch, Ellesmere and Market Drayton in the north, across to Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Ironbridge, and down through Church Stretton and the Shropshire Hills to Ludlow.
Manor house, country estate, barn or hotel, we'll set up the PA and lighting to suit. Getting married close to the border? We also play Cheshire, Staffordshire and North Wales weddings.
Happily. If it's a song we'd like in our set anyway, we'll learn it for free. If not, there's an extra fee to arrange and rehearse it with the band.
Or, if you'd prefer, we can play the original recording through our PA.
From around 6pm. If we're in a separate room to the wedding breakfast, we set up straight away. If it's the same room, we wait until after the meal and speeches.
It's your day, so we'll fit in with your plans, but we'd suggest 8:30–9pm at the earliest. Starting then helps the night build and keeps the dancefloor full right to the end.
We need at least 60 minutes to set up and soundcheck, plus a little time to get changed and grab a drink before we go on.
Usually, yes. Plenty of Shropshire's listed buildings and country houses have one. A limit of about 100 decibels, with the limiter at least 7 metres from the stage, lets the full 9-piece play properly.
If the limit's lower, we can often still make it work with in-ear monitors and the venue's electronic drum kit. Just ask us before you book.

Lots of Shropshire venues spread the day across a church or chapel, a garden or courtyard, and a barn or ballroom for the evening. Must book! We had The Brass Monkees at our wedding after seeing them online. They were brilliant, brought the party and our guests have been raving about them since.

Timber-framed manors, country estates and hillside barns
Shropshire is full of characterful places to get married: black-and-white timber-framed manor houses and halls around Shrewsbury and Ludlow, country estates near Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock, converted barns and farm venues in the Shropshire Hills and around Church Stretton, and hotels close to Telford and Ironbridge.
Old beams, low ceilings and big open ballrooms all need treating differently, so we set our PA and lighting up for the room you've chosen. Before the day, we'll check access, power and any sound limiter with your venue.
Worried a 9-piece won't fit? We've played in much smaller spaces than most people expect. Send us your venue and we'll tell you how it would work.
PLANNING LIVE MUSIC FOR YOUR SHROPSHIRE WEDDING
Timings, set-up and sound limiters, checked with your venue
We usually arrive around 6pm and need at least an hour to set up and soundcheck, plus time to change. If we're setting up in the room where you eat, we'll wait until after the speeches. Most couples have us start between 8.30 and 9pm, with two 60-minute sets and our playlist before, between and after.
Many of Shropshire's listed manor houses and halls use a sound limiter. Around 100 decibels lets the full band play as it should, and lower limits can often be managed with in-ear monitors and an electronic drum kit, so just tell us what your venue has.
The PA, stage lighting and playlists are all included. If your venue has a late licence, our manned DJ booth can keep things going after the band.
