About the venue
A wedding on the oldest racecourse
Racing has taken place on the Roodee, right below Chester's city walls, since 1539, and today the racecourse hosts weddings in a choice of spaces across the site.
Ceremonies can be held in the Champagne Bar, which you can style your own way, with the Long Room, the Paddock Rooms and the 1539 Roof and Lounge for the rest of the day.
The Long Room has high ceilings and lots of natural light, and guests can move between spaces as the day turns into the night.
Parking is free for wedding guests, there is a hotel on site, and Chester station is a short taxi ride away.

Yes. We play weddings all over Chester (see our Chester wedding band page). Before the day we speak to the venue team about where the band sets up, timings and their music arrangements.
Which room will the band play in?
That depends on your numbers and the rooms you book. We agree the room and the set-up with the events team before the day.
Can you play our ceremony at Chester Racecourse?
Yes. Our acoustic singer and guitarist can play your entrance, the signing and your exit in the Champagne Bar.
Do you work with sound limiters?

Do we need to hire a PA or lights?
No. Our own PA and stage lighting are included, and we are fully insured, with documents ready for the venue if they ask.

Our packages start from around £2,000, depending on your date, timings and extras. You book with us directly, so there are no agency fees. Send us your date for a quote.
How far ahead should we book?
Summer Saturdays in Chester often book a year or more ahead, so check our availability as soon as you have your date.
