About the venue
A castle wedding near Shrewsbury
A few miles west of Shrewsbury, Rowton Castle is a Grade II listed castle with roots in the 17th century, set in 27 acres of gardens and parkland. On your wedding day the castle and grounds are reserved just for you.
Outdoor ceremonies take place at the Linden Belvedere, an 18th-century structure in the grounds, and the Coach House is licensed too.
Inside, the Regency Ballroom, the Georgian Dining Room and the Cardeston Suite host the rest of the day, with up to 110 guests for dinner and 150 in the evening.
There are 19 bedrooms, including four-poster rooms and a honeymoon suite for the two of you, so close family and friends can stay in the castle.
Vows at the Belvedere, dinner in a castle, horns to finish.
Why a live band
A castle made for a party
Exclusive use, a ballroom and guests staying over. We plan the night around the castle timings so it builds to a big finish.
Planned to the minute
The band plays in the Cardeston Suite and finishes at 11.30pm, so we shape both sets to end on a high.
Belvedere vows
Our acoustic singer and guitarist can play your ceremony at the Linden Belvedere, then follow your guests for drinks.
All yours
The castle is exclusive to your wedding for the day, so there is no other party next door.
Horns on the lawn
Our roaming brass band can play around the gardens while the photos are taken.

Yes. Live music is welcome at Rowton Castle, and we play weddings right across Shropshire (see our Shropshire wedding band page). We agree set-up and timings with the venue before the day.
What time does the band finish at Rowton Castle?
The band sets up in the Cardeston Suite and finishes by 11.30pm. A DJ can then carry on until midnight, so many couples book our DJ booth with the band to keep the dancefloor going.
Can you play our ceremony at the Linden Belvedere?
Yes. Our acoustic singer and guitarist can play your entrance, the signing and your exit outdoors, or in the Coach House if the weather turns.
Do you work with sound limiters?
Yes. We set our levels to suit the room, and our guide to sound limiters at Shropshire wedding venues explains how they work and what to ask.
Do we need to hire a PA or lights?
No. Our own PA and stage lighting are included, and we are fully insured, with documents ready for the venue if they ask.
How much does a wedding band at Rowton Castle cost?
Our packages start from around £2,000, depending on your date, timings and extras. You book with us directly, so there are no agency fees. Send us your date for a quote.
