LIVERPOOL FUNCTION BAND
Nine musicians, a live horn section and a set built to get a Liverpool crowd singing and dancing.
We play milestone birthdays, anniversaries, charity balls, club dinners, Christmas parties and New Year’s Eve across Merseyside: hotels on the waterfront and in the city centre, function rooms in Crosby and Formby, golf clubs on the Wirral and venues in Southport, St Helens and Widnes. Our song list moves through Soul, Funk, R&B, Motown and Pop, so there’s something for the grandparents and the grandkids alike.
Every party is different, so we pace the set to the room and save the big singalongs for when the dancefloor is full. We’re winners at the Manchester and North West England Prestige Awards, rated 5.0 on Google, and the band is completely live, with no backing tracks.

On Merseyside, live function bands usually start from about:
Brass Monkees start from £2,000 plus travel. As you book the band itself, there’s no agency mark-up, which is often around 20%.
We’ll price your party on the date, the venue and how long you want live music for.

A manned DJ booth to finish the night is one of our event packages.
Yes. We invoice as Entertainment Monkey Ltd, so the bill can go to a business, a sports or golf club, or a charity committee. The date is held once the online booking form is signed and a 15% deposit is paid. The final invoice follows about two weeks before, payable a week before the party.

Two lead singers plus drums, bass, guitar and keys, with trumpet, trombone and sax up front. Nine musicians in total.
Definitely. If it fits our set, we’ll learn it for free; if it doesn’t, there’s a charge to arrange and rehearse it. We can always play the original through the PA instead.
A flat, covered space of about 6m × 3m and two 13 amp sockets on separate circuits. If the room’s smaller, tell us the size and we’ll let you know how we’d fit in.
We bring a 3kW PA as standard, or a 5kW PA for big ballrooms at extra cost.
Normally about 6pm. In a separate room from the meal we set up right away; in the same room, we wait until it’s clear so we don’t disturb anyone.
We fit around your plans, though 8:30–9pm is the earliest we’d advise. By then everyone’s arrived and eaten, and the dancefloor fills quickly.
Give us at least an hour for set-up and soundcheck, plus a few minutes to get changed.
Yes, all of it: Liverpool city centre, the waterfront, Crosby, Formby, Southport, Ormskirk, St Helens, Widnes, Runcorn, and the Wirral, including West Kirby, Heswall and Birkenhead. Travel is built into the quote.
We also play functions in Cheshire, Manchester, North Wales, Shropshire and Staffordshire.
Most of the time, yes. With a limit around 100 decibels and the sensor 7 metres or more from the stage, the full band plays normally. Lower than that, we can usually use in-ear monitors and an electronic drum kit.

A summer party, a surprise 70th and a 60th birthday: in their own words, here’s how the night went for the people who booked us.
Brass Monkees played at our Summer Party on Saturday after coming highly recommended to us and they certainly didn't disappoint! The band were full of energy and the dance floor was buzzing all evening.
We've had so many great comments from everyone, they really helped to make the party a big success. A great combination of songs and a really great touch coming out into the crowd, standing on chairs to play their instruments, fabulous!
I saw the Brass Monkees about 4/5 years ago and they were good then, and my wife booked them for a surprise birthday party for my 70th last week and they were great. She booked the full 9 piece band and the sax, trombone and trumpet made it very professional.
Everyone commented on how good the band were, and the music they played kept lots of people on the dance floor. It made it a night to remember 👍
I had Brass Monkees for my 60th Birthday in Knutsford at the courthouse. They were absolutely amazing. They got everyone up on the dance floor with absolutely no effort, because they are so good. They play all kinds of music.

A FUNCTION BAND FOR LIVERPOOL PARTIES
Waterfront, city and coast
Liverpool knows how to throw a party, and the band has to keep up. We play milestone birthdays, anniversaries, summer parties, charity balls, golf and rugby club dinners, Christmas parties and New Year’s Eve, in waterfront hotels, city-centre function rooms, Georgian halls and marquees on the Wirral.
We cover the whole of Merseyside, from Southport and Formby down to Widnes and Runcorn and across the water to Heswall and West Kirby, with travel included in your quote.
HOW BOOKING A LIVERPOOL FUNCTION BAND WORKS
Enquiry to the big night
Send the date and venue and we’ll confirm whether we’re free and what it costs. Sign the booking form online and pay a 15% deposit to lock in the date. About two weeks before, you get the final invoice, which is due a week before the party.
We liaise with the venue on access, parking and timings, and supply our insurance and PAT certificates. Companies, clubs and charities can all be invoiced, and our corporate event band page covers work events.
BAND, SOUND AND LIGHTS FOR MERSEYSIDE VENUES
Lobby to ballroom
Nine musicians: two lead singers, drums, bass, guitar, keys, trumpet, trombone and sax. We bring our own PA and lighting, using a 3kW system for most rooms and a 5kW system for the largest ballrooms. Ideally we need a 6m by 3m space, but tell us what you’ve got and we’ll make it work.
