NORTH WALES WEDDING BAND
Nine musicians on one stage: two lead vocalists, live trumpet, trombone and sax, and a rhythm section of drums, bass, guitar and keys. It's the kind of sound that gets your guests out of their seats from the first song and keeps them there until the lights come up.
We play soul, funk, R&B, Motown and pop at weddings from the Llŷn to the Dee: castle great halls and country house hotels around Conwy and Llandudno, coastal venues on Anglesey, barns tucked into the hills of Eryri and the Clwydian Range, and hotel ballrooms in Wrexham and Mold. Whatever the size of the room, we set up to suit it.
Rhyl, Prestatyn, Denbigh, Ruthin, Llangollen or Betws-y-Coed, the show is the same: our own PA and lighting, a playlist between sets, and a set list we change as we read the room. Many of the region's castles and listed halls have sound limiters, and we know how to keep the energy high without tripping them. Planning a wedding just over the border? Fully Insured
We carry public liability insurance and all our kit is PAT tested. Castles and heritage venues across North Wales tend to ask for both up front, so we'll get the certificates to your venue in plenty of time.

Typical prices for a live wedding band in North Wales:
Brass Monkees start from £2,000 plus travel for the full 9-piece. Because you book us directly, there's no agency adding 20% to the bill, so a full band with live horns often costs less than a smaller agency line-up.
The final figure depends on the line-up you choose, the distance to your venue, the date and how long you'd like us there.

When you're ready to book, we'll send you a link to sign our booking form online. A 15% deposit secures the date, and your deposit invoice is emailed to you straight away.
We email your final invoice around two weeks before the wedding. It shows anything you've added since booking, minus anything you've already paid.

Nine musicians: two lead vocalists, a rhythm section of drums, bass, guitar and keys, and a horn section of trumpet, trombone and saxophone.
No, we bring everything. All we need is a flat, covered space of about 6m × 3m and two separate 13 amp sockets on individual spurs. Some castle rooms and barns are smaller than that, and we've fitted into much tighter spots, so just tell us what you've got.
A 3kW PA is included. For bigger rooms we can bring a 5kW PA for an extra cost.
The whole region. We play weddings along the coast from Llandudno, Conwy and Colwyn Bay to Rhyl and Prestatyn, across Anglesey and around Bangor and Caernarfon, inland to Betws-y-Coed, Ruthin, Denbigh and Llangollen, and over in the north east around Wrexham, Mold and Holywell.
Castle, coastal hotel, country house or barn, we'll bring the right PA and lighting for the room. Marrying just over the border? We're in Cheshire and Liverpool most weekends too.
Yes. If it's a song we'd like to add to the set anyway, we'll learn it at no cost. Otherwise there's an extra fee for arranging it for the band and rehearsing it.
We can also play the original track through our PA if you'd rather dance to the version you know.
Normally around 6pm. If we're setting up in a different room from the wedding breakfast, we'll start straight away. If it's the same room, we'll wait until the meal and speeches have finished.
We'll work to your timings, but we recommend starting from about 8:30–9pm. It lets the evening build naturally and means the dancefloor is still full when we finish.
Allow at least 60 minutes for set-up and soundcheck, plus a bit of time to get changed and have a drink, so we're fresh when we go on.
That's usually fine. Lots of North Wales castles and listed buildings have them. A limit of around 100 decibels, with the limiter at least 7 metres from the stage, gives the full 9-piece room to play properly.
Even with a lower limit we can often still play, using in-ear monitors and the venue's electronic drum kit. Check with us before you book and we'll let you know.

From a marquee halfway up a mountain to a country house hotel near Mold, here's what people say after we've played their North Wales wedding.
BRASS MONKEES! These guys are brilliant. 6th June, wedding in a marquee, half way up a Welsh mountain! Found the venue (not a given!), on time, set-up with no fuss/drama. Just got on with it.
And then the 'play', the reading of the room - absolutely brilliant and spot on - the dance floor was pumping with wedding day joy and happiness from first dance to evening's end. Great vocals, vibrant horn section, key board, drums - just brilliant.
And the in-between D.J.ing was really good too - the DJ I'd swear is now bi-lingual! I can't recommend them enough! Nailed on atmosphere and vibe! Hire them!

The Brass Monkees are one of the best bands, you will not regret booking them for any event. We recently booked them for our wedding in North Wales, and they were absolutely amazing. All our guests kept on asking us where did you find your band. From the moment you make contact with them, they are super helpful and friendly. We let the band use their expertise to judge what to play during the evening, and they nailed it!
We also booked Lauren and Ben (Singer and Guitarist) for live music to be played pre and after ceremony, again absolutely perfect. Again we left it to their expertise to know what to play and they set the tone perfectly.

LIVE MUSIC AT NORTH WALES WEDDING VENUES
Castles, coastal hotels, country houses and hillside barns
North Wales has some of the most dramatic wedding venues in the UK: castles and historic halls around Conwy, Denbigh and Ruthin, seafront and country house hotels along the coast from Llandudno to Prestatyn, venues on Anglesey looking across the Menai Strait, barns and marquees in the hills of Eryri and the Clwydian Range, and hotels around Wrexham and Mold in the north east.
Rooms like these all behave differently. Stone walls and high ceilings carry sound in a way a marquee doesn't, so we set our PA and lighting up to suit the space, and we check the practical side with your venue beforehand: access for our kit, the power, and any sound limiter.
Remote venue or a narrow lane up the hill? We've found our way to plenty of them. Send us the details and we'll make sure it all works.
PLANNING LIVE MUSIC FOR YOUR NORTH WALES WEDDING
Timings, set-up and sound limiters, agreed with your venue
Our standard arrival is around 6pm, and we need at least an hour to set up and soundcheck, plus time to get changed. If we're in the same room as the meal, we'll wait until the speeches have finished. We'd usually start playing between 8.30 and 9pm, with two 60-minute sets and our playlist filling the time before, between and after.
Many castles and listed buildings in North Wales have a sound limiter. Around 100 decibels lets the full 9-piece play at its best, and for quieter limits we can use in-ear monitors and an electronic drum kit, so tell us what your venue allows.
PA, stage lighting and the playlist come as standard. If your venue has a late licence, add our manned DJ booth to keep the dancing going.

From the ceremony to the end of the night
The full band is nine musicians: two lead vocalists, drums, bass, guitar and keys, with trumpet, trombone and saxophone up front. It's a rich, full sound that fills a castle hall or a marquee without needing to be loud.
Plenty of North Wales venues hold the ceremony, drinks and evening in different spots, from a chapel or cathedral to a courtyard or lawn. Our acoustic singer and guitarist can play the ceremony, and our 4-piece roaming brass band can entertain your guests outside while the photos are taken.
Our playlist between sets is always included, and you can add the manned DJ booth for later on. Our wedding packages bring it all together.

Tell us the songs you love and we'll build them into the set. On the night we watch the dancefloor and adjust as we go. If you'd like your first dance played live, give us time to rehearse it; otherwise we'll play the original recording for you.
